What We Do

Accountability Is crucial to rehabilitation.

Colorado TENT initiated its efforts because it recognized:

  • Incarcerated people themselves could be the solution

  • Accountability is crucial to rehabilitation

  • Does not allow anyone to diminish their actions using the label “mistake.”

  • A person in prison has made bad decisions, not simply made mistakes.

  • Those incarceration include doctors, lawyers, teachers, business owners, and countless others capable of assisting their incarcerated peers in need of guidance.

  • Truthfully, the dynamic of incarcerated people helping other incarcerated has always existed.

  • T.E.N.T. designed a curriculum with a structure that would transform lives.

  • Turning idle time into productive preparation for parole would decrease recidivism.

  • Giving meaning and purpose to those who know they will be incarcerated for the rest of their lives by serving as TENT Points of Contact (POC’s).

Whether it’s general education, specific vocational knowledge, or crucial thinking and impulse control, TENT is capable of meeting every potential parolee where they are and assisting them on their way to where they want to be.

We foster desistence, we don’t sell tents.

Also …

  1. We Encourage individuals to invest in their futures by first investing in them.

  2. We identify value in futures our clients can’t initially soo for themselves

  3. We enhance future probabilities by investing in current possibilities.

  4. We bridge the gap between who the person wants to be and who they currently are.

  5. We provide pragmatic current evaluations so individuals can make realistic plans for their future.

  6. We enhance probability of future success by investing in current possible opportunities.

The larger the network gets, the more people it helps. The network is dynamic, diverse, and inclusive. The T.E.N.T. is big enough for everyone.
